If you simply used an H. DNxHD is still fully available in the same HD projects it's always been avaialble in, using the same names. My cameras say they are shooting at 24p, but I've always gone with Import Settings Dialog Box. Import a QuickTime movie that has been compressed with this codec into an Avid editing application as DV 25 or DV 50, corresponding to the source.
Anything else I should do to help with the render and preview files with this codec? However, they use the new naming and that would be ok, as long as the quality was on par with the old version of the codec.
I just want to find the best options for my website content and my televised content so that I know what to use to give me a more proper workflow. That leaves me with no fodec as to why these transcodes would look any worse than normal.
Proper use of DNxHD Codecs
This will create a sequence with proper settings for your media. Needless to say the amount of good and bad info out there to sort through is becoming overwhelming!

I also read where x means bit, which is what I wanted. So what I was going to do was start a new sequence and under Sequence Presets, select the same preset that I was transcoding my files to. This will produce Blu-ray-ready video that will not need to transcode in Encore. PAL DV resolutions have an even lower field first ordering.

Do I still select x I'm very surprised that something that's supposed to look the same looks this awful. Normally I would export to covec web, or to BluRay when actually burning disks, using the exact same method for both.
